In spring of 2022, the Ghostbusters North crew was invited to an event in Duluth, Minnesota. It was a Mother/Son dance and being that the Ghostbusters North crew was popular among the region, the event was Ghostbusters themed. There were balloons like Stay Puft, slimed décor, and even a cotton candy machine. All this was for naught as we encountered 52 young Spider-Man heroes and various other superhero identities.
While an 80s comedy of epic proportions was “cool”, it was only our kind of “cool.” We needed to expand to further our mission so we began to think on how to reach more kids and allow that magic we brought to reach them.
We launched “Heroes North” in early 2023. It is still very much a work in progress but we have partnered with such great established groups such as Minnesota Superheroes United for events. MNSU has the same mission as we do which is to costume for events that benefit kids such as fundraisers, children’s hospital visits, parades, and granting wishes.
